Medical Assistant - Back Office
Program Overview
The Medical Assistant – Back Office Program trains students to support the clinical side of patient care in a healthcare setting. Students who complete this program will help create a positive patient experience while confidently performing basic medical procedures. Upon completion, you’ll gain the hands-on skills and clinical knowledge needed to succeed in a back-office medical role.
This blended program runs for 6 months (about 24 weeks).
Students are required to complete approximately 435 hours of online coursework, along with 6 hours of hands-on, in-person lab practicum per week to reinforce practical skills.
Students typically spend 2 to 3 hours per day on coursework each week, though the exact time may vary depending on each student’s learning style and pace. To learn more about the program curriculum, click here.

Program Outcomes
Students will be trained on how to perform a number of duties, including how to escort patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, record medical histories, and assist with common diagnostic procedures like hearing and vision tests. The program also covers how to prepare patients for in-office procedures such as EKGs and how to collect specimens for lab work.

Yes! While our program is not accredited by a national accrediting body, we are proud to be partnered with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). All students who complete our Medical Assistant program are eligible to take the NHA’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exams.
This partnership ensures that students who complete our program are well-prepared and qualified to pursue national certification through NHA—one of the most widely recognized certifying bodies in the healthcare field.
