Medical Assistant - Front Office

Program Overview

The Medical Assistant – Front Office Program equips students with the skills needed to support the day-to-day operations of a medical office. Students who complete this program will not only help ensure the business runs smoothly but also contribute to delivering an exceptional experience for patients. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to step into your first role in a medical office environment with confidence.

This 100% online program runs for about 12 weeks.

 

Students will be required to complete around 120 hours of coursework; no additional in-person lab practicum required.

 

Students typically spend 1.5 to 2 hours per day on coursework each week, though the exact time may vary depending on each student’s learning style and pace. To learn more about the program curriculum, click here.

Program Outcomes

Students will be trained on how to perform a number of duties, including greeting and scheduling new and follow-up appointments for patients and visitors, bookkeeping, calling patients to remind them of appointments, answering and routing calls, making transactions, registering new patients, updating records, and keeping paperwork organized. They will learn how to be responsible for maintaining a calm and efficient environment.

Yes! While our program is not accredited by a national accrediting body, we are proud to be partnered with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). All students who complete our Medical Assistant program are eligible to take the NHA’s Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exams.

 

This partnership ensures that students who complete our program are well-prepared and qualified to pursue national certification through NHA—one of the most widely recognized certifying bodies in the healthcare field.
